Inclement Weather Closure Procedure

School Inclement Weather/ Temporary Closure Policy and Procedure

The Safety of our students and staff is our top priority and it may be necessary to close the school on a particular day in order to maintain safety.

Anticipated Situations: 

1.     The Head of School and Deputy Head will confer the night before a possible closure if factors are known in advance.  Text will be prepared by the Deputy Head and approved by the Head of School. 

2.     Text will be sent for distribution to the AD, Head of Counseling, Personal Assistant to the Head of School and Receptionist, bussing representative and residence manager. 

Unanticipated Situations: 

  1. The Head of School and Deputy Head will confer prior to 6:00 a.m. if potential factors that can result in a closure. 

  2. The Head of School only shall make the decision to close the school.  The Deputy Head shall assist with drafting communications. 

  3. In the event of school closure, the Head of School will approve text that will be sent for distribution to senior staff, on Schoology, to parent emails, Constant Contact, WeChat, and by other approved means as soon as possible.   

In the event of school closure, the Head of School will send communication to the leadership team regarding the scheduling of any planning/emergency meetings that might be required to manage an ongoing situation. 

Online Learning (Procedure)

All classes will run Synchronously.  All teachers will post zoom information to Schoology course pages for P1 and P2 each day.  Teachers will also inform their students about the location of learning materials on Schoology and their zoom link.

For High School, students will enter the teachers’ zoom link at the beginning of class for both P1 and P2.

For Middle School, students will enter the teachers’ zoom link at the beginning of class for all classes. Please follow the regular day schedule.
